The Talking Therapies Service is looking for enthusiastic, motivated and qualified High Intensity Therapists to join our dynamic and expanding service to help manage the increasing demand for Step 3 CBT and other modalities including counselling for depression, couples therapy for depression and IPT.

We currently operate a hybrid working arrangement, where you will be based at either Green Lane Hospital, Devizes or Fountain Way Hospital, Salisbury combined with opportunities for remote working from home.  

Main duties of the job

You will provide a qualified specialist psychological therapy service for anxiety and depression to clients from the NHS Talking Therapies service. This involves providing specialist psychological assessment and therapy, using the therapy model specified by the NHS Talking Therapies for anxiety and depression Manual.

You will also provide professional and clinical supervision to other members of the team.

You will be joining the service at an exciting time with expansion across all areas which will open up excellent development opportunities.

You will receive regular supervision and an extensive programme of CPD opportunities to ensure your continued learning and development.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Main Duties:  

Clinical:  

  • To provide specialist psychological therapy assessments and treatments with clients referred to the NHS Talking Therapies service

Professional:

  • To provide professional and clinical supervision to other members of the team, including Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners and Assistant Psychologists. Where appropriate, to provide this to trainee NHS Talking Therapies workers and other clinical staff.

Communications and Relationships

  • To communicate in a skilled and sensitive manner, information concerning the assessment, formulation and treatment plans of clients under their care.

Teaching, training, and supervision

  • To receive regular clinical professional supervision from a qualified NHS Talking Therapies High Intensity Therapist and other professional colleagues.

  • To develop skills in the area of professional post-graduate teaching, training and supervision, as appropriate.

  • To provide professional and clinical supervision to other members of the team, including Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners and Assistant Psychologists. Where appropriate, to provide this to trainee NHS Talking Therapies workers and other clinical staff.

Essential criteria
  • Recognised/accredited post graduate level training in a psychological therapy

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Full accreditation with BABCP or eligibility for BPS/CPC and eligibility for BABCP accreditation.
Desirable criteria
  • CBT supervisors qualification or eligible to train as a CBT supervisor

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of specialist psychological assessment and treatment of clients within an NHS Talking Therapies service
  • Experience of working with a variety of client groups and presenting problems

Skills

Essential criteria
  • Mobile with the facility to move quickly across a geographically dispersed area with limited access to public transport.
