Job overview

Housekeepers support the Nursing Staff to provide an appropriate environment for patient care. Duties will include general cleaning of all Ward/Departmental areas and the preparation and presentation and service of Patients meals and beverages.

Housekeepers will be expected to demonstrate a flexible attitude to their work to meet the needs of the Ward and the Patients.

Come and join our freindly and hardworking team of housekeepers and catering assistants working in our Mental Health inpatient facilities at Southmead Hospital for a fixed term of 6 months with full and or part time hours available. 

Our hours for morning workers are from 07:30 to 13:30

Our hours for evening workers are from 16:00 to 19:00

All shifts are 5 days over 7 days working. 

Main duties of the job

GHSA (General Hotel Services Assistants) are expected to help out with all cleaning and catering related activities at ward level, where there may be constant distractions and contact with service users displaying disturbed and challenging behaviour on a frequent basis.
