Theatre Porter

Band 2

Job overview

We are looking to recruit enthusiastic, motivated and energetic individuals to join our busy team of Theatre Porters.

Experience is not essential as full training will be given. The role does require the physical action of transferring patients around the hospital, on beds and Trolleys. This position does involve shift work, which includes nights and weekends although flexible working may be available.

You will have good interpersonal skills, with the ability to work as part of a team in a demanding physical role as an essential part of the Theatre team.

Benefits and opportunities

  • Enhanced unsocial working rates across nights and weekends
  • Competitive bank rates for additional work
  • A unique new starter program, to ensure your transition into our department is a smooth one, guiding you through a training package to suit your needs, along with mentors and line managers for added support and security.

Main duties of the job

You will be required to assist in the transferring of patients to and from the Operating Department, transferring equipment between theatres and taking specimens/blood to the Pathology Labs as required, helping to ensure the smooth running of the Operating Department.

We value our differences, champion kindness and civility, and truly believe that diversity makes us stronger.

A culture of learning, developing and innovating is the thread that runs throughout our whole organisation. We want to support you to thrive, taking your career to its full potential.

We value staff wellbeing, with a well-established programme of support. We believe in a holistic approach spanning all aspects of living a healthy life, including physical, emotional, spiritual and financial wellbeing. We've even got a pool!

We are committed to supporting you and hope you want to join our team.
