Job overview

We are seeking a band 6/7 (Band 6 will be a development post to band 7) SACT CNS with a particular interest in supporting patients who are receiving immunotherapy and managing their toxicities. 

The SACT Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) will be based within the Oncology Directorate in the Dyson Cancer Centre and form part of a very supportive multi-professional team. 

Main duties of the job

He / she / they will

  • act as an associate key worker for patients being treated with immunotherapy requiring specialist support. 
  • have the clinical knowledge and expertise to work autonomously or willing to undertake a development role to become an expert practitioner in SACT focusing on immunotherapy.
  • manage nurse led clinic (face to face and virtually) assessing immunotherapy toxicities and prescribing supportive medications accordingly.
  • be an active member of the SACT multidisciplinary team involved in monitoring and developing SACT services across the trust and liaising with community partners to ensure patients receive sustainable high quality care that is safe and effective.
