Dental Nurse

Job overview

We are recruiting for one permanent Dental Nurse.

We accept applications from those without the Radiography training and those candidates would start on a band 4 before progressing to a band 5.

The post holder will be supported by the Senior Dental Nurses, Dental nurse specialists, RGN's & multidisciplinary team to undertake all relevant aspects of dental nursing and patient management: and be expected to act in an accountable manner, adhering to relevant codes of conduct and Trust policies.

This role invites those wishing to work hard as a part of a busy, Multidisciplinary team which covers Restorative, Orthodontics and Maxillo Facial. We are looking for a well organized team member, who has an understanding of evidence based practice and is also able to use their own initiative as well as in a team.

You should be able to lay out, clear and reset dental equipment, ensuring that all infection prevention and effective control measures are met. Organize workload to give timely and appropriate care, recognizing when appropriate to share.

Main duties of the job

General

· Act in a supportive, informative and sensitive manner towards patients, relatives, visitors and colleagues at all times.

· Act as a role model demonstrating high standards of holistic care and provide clinical leadership in relevant clinical areas.

· Be able to communicate with a variety, adapting styles of communication to meet the needs of patients, relatives and carers, managers, peers and other professions / agencies.

· Using initiative to generate solutions within own and others’ practice to enhance care and treatment.
