Nuclear Medicine Service Manager (Chief Technologist/Radiographer)

The Nuclear Medicine Service Manager provides a managerial and highly specialist technical service role to the Trust and other organisations in order to deliver a safe, highly specialised diagnostic and therapeutic patient service.

The Service Manager is responsible for the management of the Nuclear Medicine and PETCT services, which includes arranging staff rotas, patient bookings, radiopharmaceutical provision, patient administrations, daily equipment QC and equipment selection (equipment which is currently valued in excess of £2.5 million), Nuclear Medicine provides a diagnostic and therapeutic service to the Trust, Private Organisations and GP practices (income in excess of £1.2 million). Management of the service includes continuous improvement and development of the service through the quality system, which is registered to ISO 9001:2015.

The post has responsibility for the management of all the Nuclear Medicine service team. The post holder is the Trust Clinical Technologist/Radiographer Lead in Nuclear Medicine and is responsible for ensuring the team has been adequately trained in their duties including use of equipment, handling radioactive material and basic life support.

 

The post provides leadership for highly specialist team of technologists and radiographers  which support a wide range of specialist clinical procedures using modern, highly specialist equipment and information technology equipment. The work of the post holder is central to ensuring that clinical diagnosis and treatment can be delivered in a high technology healthcare environment.

The post holder must be a registered clinical technologist or radiographer.
