As part of our service improvement programme, we have a number of vacancies for Cleaners with a wide variety of shift patterns available. Shift patterns can be created to suit your individual needs. Available shift lengths are between 6 hours and 7.5 hours throughout the day both in the week, and at weekends, operating between the hours of 07.30am to 22.00pm. Enhanced rates are paid for night, weekend and bank holiday shifts. 

We are looking for candidates who have a flexible approach, good communication skills, attention to detail and the ability to use their own initiative.

Who are we? The Cleaning department is a large, dedicated team providing cleaning services to all areas of our hospital. Cleaning is a vital and respected service within the hospital, helping to control the spread of infection, and providing a welcoming and safe environment for all our patients, staff and visitors.

 

 

Main duties of the job

The successful candidates will be responsible for achieving high standards of cleanliness in clinical and non-clinical areas throughout the RUH and for ensuring that a clean, safe and comfortable environment is maintained for patients and visitors.

Our team of Cleaners are generally assigned to a specific location, enabling them to feel part of  team and build great relationships.   Given the diverse and expansive nature of our site, there are also opportunities to work within several environments.
