The successful candidate will support the NHS Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin’s Communications and Engagement Team, delivering outstanding service across various programmes and collaborating with multiple stakeholders within the health and care system. Enthusiasm and a passion for communications and engagement are essential.

Under the direction of the Communications and Engagement Lead, you will provide day-to-day support for the team, including internal and external projects and campaigns, using various channels for different audiences. Responsibilities include managing several individual projects from start to completion, including high-level system projects, day-to-day communications, online services (intranet, website, social media), and other regular and bespoke communications.

Location:     Hybrid working (1-2 days per week at the base in Wellington)

 

Main duties of the job

  • Develop and Deliver Plans: Support communications and engagement plans for strategic programmes under the guidance of the Communications and Engagement Lead.
  • Campaign Assistance: Assist in campaign delivery, including posters, social media schedules, and press releases.
  • Content Production: Lead in producing briefings, bulletins, and newsletters from creation to distribution.
  • Brand Champion: Ensure NHS brand identity across all digital and communication materials.
  • Website Maintenance: Keep the website updated with fresh content, including banners, event updates, news, and information pages.
  • Staff Communication: Contribute to internal communication platforms.
  • Media Relations: Develop links with local media, respond to media enquiries, and prepare written responses and press releases.
  • Team Ambassador: Promote the team's work, identify opportunities, and share positive stories.
  • Content Creation: Produce content to highlight the work of the ICB and Integrated Care System (ICS).
  • Proactive Communication: Engage in horizon scanning to enhance the impact of the ICB’s communications.
  • Stakeholder Database Management: Manage and develop databases, ensuring up-to-date information and GDPR compliance.
  • Digital Tools Utilization: Use various digital and IT software programs, provide training for team members, including media monitoring, design, and website software.
