Job overview

To be responsible for the management of Cleanliness and Linen Services at The Princess Royal  Hospital including all aspects of human and financial resource management.  To contribute to the development of strategic plans and hold responsibility for the development of operational plans for the services in conjunction with the Senior Cleanliness Manager.  The post holder will also provide cover at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital and outlier sites as required.

Main duties of the job

Responsibility for the day-to-day management of Cleanliness and Linen Services at The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital.  Ensuring a professional approach is taken to ensure the effective delivery of the service function within the Trust

The post holder will be required to work with a broad range of stakeholders, members of Care Groups, Clinical Site and Nurse Managers, Care Group Managers, Ward and Departmental Managers to ensure objectives are met.

The Cleanliness Services Department is responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout the Trust environment, working in accordance with the Cleanliness Policy and in line with the National Specifications for Cleanliness.  The Department is also responsible for the provision of the linen delivery service within the Trust and provides a Rapid Response Deep Clean Service to Clinical Areas as required and 24 hour cleaning in ED

  • Significant Experience of healthcare cleanliness managment
  • Experience of managing large teams
  • Knowledge of National Specifications for Cleanliness
Desirable criteria
  • Knowledge of healthcare linen and laundering

  • NVQ 3/GSCE qualification or significant experience and knowledge of business function
