 A new and exciting opportunity has arisen to join us at SaTH and support our Estates & MES team with their software systems and be a key player and be part of an exciting journey for our hospitals around Shrewsbury & Telford.

The Trust has just started to embark on a major capital investment program of up to £312m to upgrade its estate, and create state of the art medical facilities, developed in conjunction with our Clinicians.  The role will be pivotal in developing the Estates department for the future from within a Trust that has a culture of supportive friendly teams that are passionate about patient care.

Work with the Estates team on the annual Asset Valuation, proactively processing necessary system updates, liaising with the dedicated external consultant, providing MiCAD performance reports and analytics, ensuring the accuracy of the numerical data shared for the valuation, undertaking checks and measurements on site as required.

 

Main duties of the job

The Trust's aim is always to put patients at the heart of everything we do and is guided by the principles and Trust values developed by our staff. In line with this vision, the Estates Directorate are seeking a highly committed and experienced professional systems lead to join our team, who will play a key role in helping to shape and develop the Trust’s estates systems, and include you having managerial, professional and technical responsibility for the systems, which are help deliver our service across all of the Trust portfolio.

 

You will lead and develop the Estates support systems across all the portfolio of SaTH  sites to ensure they are “fit for the future”. The successful candidate will work closely with the new Head of Estates and have responsibility for the management     of the Trust's estates system portfolio.

Be the System manager, process data updates and upload documents, be the main lead and point of contact for all MiCAD (Estates CAFM System) and CAD queries, provide assistance to colleagues and other users as required, liaise with the MiCAD company for timely resolution of eventual system failures, lead on licences update and training upgrades.

Support the Space planning team with graphical and analytical reports for the purpose of the space planning solutions development. Once a new space allocation is approved, reflect the change on MiCAD.

Essential criteria
  • Masters in relevant discipline, or equivalent experience in a similar role.
  • Project management qualification or relevant experience in a systems environment with evidence of managing projects.
Desirable criteria
  • BIM qualification

Essential criteria
  • Autonomous, self-starter, willing to take initiative and drive the MiCAD function.
  • Proven ability to interact & work cohesively with colleagues.

  • Ability to analyse architectural layouts, monitor accuracy, perform gap analysis, make recommendations in relation to MiCAD records.

  • Proven ability of using project management techniques in relation to MiCAD or wider property related developments.
  • Advanced numerical and analytic skills.

  • Ability to undertake data audits.
  • Sound knowledge of methods for document control.
  • Maintain MiCAD system integrity.
  • Confident and logical thinker, demonstrating the ability to undertake long periods of concentration.

Specific Job Requirements

Essential criteria
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Esp Powerpoint) and CAFM Systems such as MiCAD.
  • Working knowledge of Autocad.
  • Experience of process improvement in CAFM/MiCAD.
  • Working effectively with internal and external stakeholders in a large complex organisation.
  • Building working relationships across business functions and departments.
  • Database management, accurate data entry with gap analysis, in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Leading on data collection in relation to asset management.
  • Fluency with ERIC reporting
  • Training and communication Skill demonstration in a similar role
Desirable criteria
  • Knowledge of Asset Valuation.
  • Working experience within the NHS.
  • Experience of Service line reporting.
  • Experience with implementing BIM Levels 2 and 3.

  • Ability to train and teach others to use MiCAD.
  • Role-model best practices in MiCAD/CAFM, professional integrity, lead by example.
