Job overview
An exciting opportunity to support the cancer/ haematology research team at RSH.
This a varied role with a mix of admin and clerical support to enable the research team to recruit patients into trials.
The role involves clinic booking, sending GP letters, managing spreadsheets and using our research databases to add patients as well as other varied tasks.
Time management skills are therefore essential as is the ability to work autonomously. Previous experience in research is not essential, however a good knowledge of hospital IT systems would be an advantage and being a key player is integral to the role.

Main duties of the job

Some of the duties of this varied role :
Clinic booking ,managing databases, preparing for clinics and follow ups and entering data using hospital and other IT systems.
Time management skills are therefore essential as is the ability to work autonomously. Previous experience in research is not essential, however a good knowledge of
hospital IT systems would be an advantage and being a key player is integral to the role.
You need to have an enquiring mind with a good basic level of education with a minimum of five GCSEs, or equivalent (grades 9-4 or equivalent) including English and Mathematics.
The post will be based at Royal Shrewsbury Hospital however, you may be required to travel to other Trust sites as required.

- Significant experience of working in an office as a member of a team
- Experience in healthcare related administration
