Job overview
An exciting opportunity to join Shropshire Community Health NHS Trust as an Apprentice Personal Assistant has become available.
The successful applicant will be required to support the Executive Team and the corporate office function. Part of your time will include supporting the front of house facilities at the Trust's headquarters.
You will need to be able to work accurately and at pace in a multi-tasking environment, whilst maintaining excellent customer service skills. You will be an excellent communicator and have a good eye for detail.
Main duties of the job
You will be working closely with a team of Executive Assistants, to provide comprehensive support to the Executives. You will have the opportunity to work across the team.
Day to day duties include:
- To provide secretarial, administrative and organisational support to the Director of Governance 2 days per week.
- Support the Corporate Office Manager and the Executive Directors PAs, to ensure a full and comprehensive support service at all times to the Chief Executive and Executive Team.
- To support in the provision of a Front of House Service for the Trust, to include basic reception cover and postal service.
- Supporting the front of house position, acting as a support for the first point of contact for staff, visitors and external contractors / couriers.
- Processing, filing and distribution of confidential reports and documents.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- GCSE (Grade A-C) or Equivalent in English and Maths
- Willingness to undertake and satisfactorily complete a QCF Level 3 in Business Admin within 15-18 months.
- Ability to meet the ELS Numeracy and Literacy Level 2 exercises.
Knowledge and Skills
Essential criteria
- Ability to work to tight deadlines.
- Ability to deal with sensitive and confidential information.
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience of managing own workload.
- Some previous clerical experience.
