Job overview
The post holder will participate in the Immunisation and Vaccination Service, leading vaccination programmes as delegated and working closely with lead clinicians, NHS Executive, Welsh Government, Local Authority in the local delivery of the National Immunisation Framework.
This programme will review the National Immunisation Framework and develop and manage the implementation of relevant existing and new vaccination programmes.
Having specific programme and service management responsibilities, often working within tight timescales and competing demands. The work will involve working with highly complex, sensitive, and contentious information with a high degree of autonomy.
Lead on a range of local Immunisation and Vaccination programmes as directed by Vaccine Programme Wales on behalf of Welsh Government and develop implementation plans to be agreed by the Powys Vaccination Group. The programmes will encompass the requirements outlined by the Welsh Health Circulars including planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation.
The post holder will be a key member of the Vaccine Programme Wales Planning & Delivery groups and will act as a Deputy to the Head of Service when required.
Main duties of the job
Planning lead for managing complex Vaccination and Immunisation programmes and projects working with a high degree of autonomy.
Working with clinicians, service leads and staff across the organisation the post holder will promote Vaccination and Immunisation programmes and implement evidence based best practice across each Vaccination programme.
Analyse performance and vaccination services delivered across the system to facilitate redesign, transform how they are delivered and provide innovative solutions to maximise uptake of immunisations across the population.
Lead and/or participate in projects to develop new ways of working in line with organisational objectives and best practice.
Provide senior programme and project management support to a range of initiatives and groups in working towards modernised services to meet Health Board and Vaccination Programme Wales strategies and targets.
Develop long term strategic plans for service improvement across the Immunisation and Vaccination Service.
Analyse data to feed into service development and programme planning.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

- Post Grad Management qualification to Master's level or equivalent
- Understanding of modernisation / service re-design

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
