Job overview

An opportunity has arisen within the Estates, Capital and Property Department for an accomplished Capital Project Manager. You will be responsible for management of delegated capital projects, as defined within the capital programme. You will develop and maintain good relationships and clear lines of communication with Estate colleagues, Directors, Directorate Managers, Senior Managers and Head of Departments, together with any appointed Consultants and/or Project Managers in connection with any project work. You will have excellent communication, interpersonal and technical skills and have a positive approach with the ability to work collaboratively.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be the Project Manager for specific projects and have 
overall responsibility for the integrity and coherence of Projects to which they  are assigned.

Support the Head of Capital to deliver the relevant programme through the 
effective management of key projects within that programme.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications and/or Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Degree, relevant professional qualification or equivalent management or Project Management experience
  • Accredited Project Management qualification e.g. Prince2 or equivalent project management experience
  • Understanding of the role of a project management within an Estates department
  • Proven work record of consistently achieving high standards and delivering objectives and priorities
  • Knowledge of Change Management techniques
  • Knowledge of NHS structure and functions

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of hands on delivery and management of complex projects ideally within the NHS or a public sector
Desirable criteria
  • Programme management or multi-Project Management experience
  • Experience of leading a service improvement project
  • Knowledge and experience of risk management techniques and systems

Other

Essential criteria
  • Ability to travel throughout the Health Board area with occasional travel outside of the county
  • Ability to work flexible working hours dictated by the service needs which may includes ‘On-Call rota’ and weekends and evenings
