We are looking for a Clinical Psychologist to join our adolescent inpatient unit in Swindon. The unit is multi-disciplinary and all are highly committed to providing the best care they can to the young people who are admitted.

The unit is part of the Thames Valley Tier 4 Provider collaborative and you will be linked into the wider Bath and North East Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire (BSW) Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) group of psychologists.

The successful candidate will be joining our existing part time clinical psychologist.

You will be joining Marlborough House Adolescent Inpatient Unit in Swindon, a constantly evolving service which is committed to adapting to meet diverse and challenging demands and to maintaining high quality specialist assessment and intervention. 

The role involves the provision of a high quality Clinical Psychology Service within the multi-disciplinary team. We are looking for an enthusiastic, personable, and resourceful individual who is committed to supporting and developing services as part of a close-knit team. You will need excellent communication and organisational skills, and a keenness to be part of a busy and vibrant service.

We will need you to provide therapeutic interventions to young people, consultation, supervision and training to the team and will assist with case formulation and treatment planning. There is currently another 8a clinical psychologist (0.5wte) in post with whom you would be sharing the role and responsibilities and there are plans to recruit an assistant psychologist.

This is an exciting post and would suit someone who has experience in working with children, young people and their families, who is keen to develop wider skills working with young people presenting with a range of complex mental health needs and the families and systems supporting them. It would suit someone with interests in the areas of adolescent mental health including, but not limited to, eating disorders, OCD, autism and managing strong emotions.
