Band 7

Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust has been rated as Good by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

We are a responsive and innovative Foundation Trust that places our values of Caring, Safe and Excellent at the heart of everything we do. We take great pride in our staff and believe that investing in you is key to us achieving our vision of outstanding care delivered by outstanding people.

We work with a wide range of partner organisations to deliver care and support to people in their own homes and from a number of hospitals and community bases. We focus on delivering care as close to home as possible for people of all ages across Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Swindon, Wiltshire, Bath and North East Somerset.

We know Job Descriptions and Specifications can sometimes be long which can be off-putting for some people, and we don’t want to let that deter you from applying.

We actively support anti-racism, equality, diversity, and inclusion so, if you’re excited about this job opportunity and you meet our Trust values, but feel unsure about applying, then please get in touch and we will be happy to have a conversation with you.

We are also committed to increasing diversity in the workforce, that is why we actively encourage applications from those groups of people who are currently under-represented, which include amongst others: people with disabilities; men from all socio-economic backgrounds; people from diverse ethnic backgrounds; and people from the LGBTQIA+ community.

Good luck and we hope to hear from you!

Job overview

Are you an approachable, calm, reflective practitioner?

Do you have experience of working with children and young people, learning disability, or mental health?

We, at Salisbury Community CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services), are looking for a Clinical Specialist to join our team to support our child and young people with complex needs. You might be a Learning Disability Nurse, Clinical Psychologist, Occupational Therapist or Social Worker, committed to providing psychoeducational support to those who need it.

We’re delighted to offer this role as a developmental opportunity too; we know taking on a Band 7 role can be a little daunting, but we’re a really supportive team, committed to your growth, and we’re happy to provide support for you to achieve this.

Main duties of the job

In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to get involved with a variety of different stakeholders; you’ll be working with our CYP, their families, schools, social care and specialist provisions, as well as networking within our team and overseeing our students on placement and support workers.

You’ll be able to act as a Care-Co-ordinator, so whilst you might not always be delivering great care directly, you’ll be heavily involved in the decision making to help make a difference to the lives of our children, young people and their families.

When you are involved in delivering care, you’ll be specialising in providing evidence based therapy, and you’ll predominantly be doing this on a face to face basis, either in the home, in schools or in the workplace.

This may sound a lot but you won’t be alone; we have a wealth and breadth of knowledge across our Multidisciplinary team, so there will always be someone to offer guidance, someone to learn new skills from, and someone to provide support. Staff wellbeing is a high priority and we offer clinical supervision, management supervision, team reflective practice sessions and we have an induction programme that’s second to none.

Working for our organisation

Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust provides physical, mental health and social care for people of all ages across Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Swindon, Wiltshire, Bath and North East Somerset.

Our services are delivered at community bases, hospitals, clinics and people’s homes, delivering care as close to home as possible

Our vision is that no matter who you are or where you are, you will tell us that you receive: “Outstanding care delivered by an outstanding team”

Our values are: “Caring, safe and excellent”

At Oxford Health we offer a wide range of benefits designed to support your career and wellbeing. These include:

  • Excellent opportunities for career progression
  • Access to tailored individual and Trust wide learning and development
  • 27 days annual leave, plus bank holidays, rising to 33 days with continuous service
  • NHS Discount across a wide range of shops, restaurants and retailers
  • Competitive pension scheme
  • Lease car scheme
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Employee Assistance Programme
  • Mental Health First Aiders
  • Staff accommodation (please note waiting lists may apply)
  • Staff networking and support groups hosted by our Equality, Diversity & Inclusion team

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

In this role, you’ll be based in Salisbury and we’ll need you to travel around the community patch.

We know how important a good work-life balance is, so we’re open to considering some flexibility in your hours between 8am and 6pm; you might want to work compressed hours, and we’re open to consider part time requests too.

If you have any questions or queries about the role, or us as a team, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with Terry Pearce on 01865 901 901 or [email protected].
