This vacancy is for a position within our Keystone Mental Health and Wellbeing Hubs in North and West Oxfordshire. The hubs have been developed to improve the health and wellbeing of people who experience serious mental health difficulties in the community.

The hubs comprised of professionals from health and social care including mental health professionals from the NHS, the third-sector and people who have experienced mental health challenges themselves.

Team working hours are Mon-Fri 9-5 based in Banbury- Keystone Banbury Mental Health and Wellbeing Hub, Castle Quay Shopping Centre or Witney AMHT Nuffield Health Centre, Welch Way.

Oxford Health offer the Peer Support Training programme as a nationally recognised accredited Level 3 Apprenticeship (fully funded by Oxford Health).

The Peer Worker Apprenticeship is completed over a period of 15-19 months depending on whether a Peer Support Worker works part time or full time (22.5-37.5 hours).

Eligibility criteria to enrol on the apprenticeship includes having GCSE/Level 2 Maths and English qualifications. You will be expected to provide evidence of these qualifications. If you do not have these qualifications, we would still welcome your application for consideration, but you would need to complete The Trust’s functional skills courses on Maths and/or English whilst in the role before enrolling on the apprenticeship. All new Peer Support Workers will be provided with training for the role and support from a tutor and supervisor within their working hours.

Lived experience:

Drawing on lived experience of mental health to provide emotional and practical support to an allocated group of service users to promote their recovery. This may include avoidance of admission and/or promoting recovery for inpatient’s by helping them to identify and build their own support network.
To support service users to engage effectively with care being offered and access appropriate services.
Drawing upon lived experience & using active listening to inspire hope, offer empathy, empowerment, confidence building & validate a service users’ feelings.
To build relationships that are founded on the value of mutuality which will facilitate the provision of regular and practical support, both one to one and via group facilitation, to service users in developing and managing independence and maintaining dignity and self-respect
Where appropriate challenge discrimination and reducing the stigma of mental ill health.
To positively promote independent living of service users through role-modelling individual recovery journeys
To have the individual service user’s needs always at the forefront of the PSW’s practice and to use the skills incorporated in the Peer Support Training to underpin their practice.
To build rapport with service users, whilst maintaining professional boundaries, drawing on both experience and knowledge of the service user perspective and an evidence-based approach.

Applications are invited for the above post from UK registered Dietitians (or those eligible for registration). This offers an exciting opportunity to be involved in the dietetic education at the University of Nottingham and would be suitable for candidates with prior experience in higher education or practicing Dietitians who wish to embark on such a career. Applications are particularly welcome from those who have recent experience of working in public health or associated areas.

The post is based within the Division of Food, Nutrition and Dietetics in the School of Biosciences. The School offers a four-year integrated undergraduate Master’s degree in Dietetics and Nutrition (MNutr) leading to eligibility to apply for registration in dietetics with the Health and Care Professions Council. The Division also delivers other Nutrition-related degrees, including a three-year BSc degree in Nutrition, which has been accredited by the Association for Nutrition, and a BSc in Food Sciences and Nutrition. In addition, we also offer a MSc in Clinical Nutrition, as well as MSc in Nutritional Sciences.

The successful candidate will be expected to predominantly contribute to the teaching and related administration of a number of modules within the programmes associated with our dietetics associated degrees, but they will also make contributions to our nutrition-related degrees.

Current registration as a Dietitian in the UK (or be eligible for such registration) is an essential requirement for the role. A postgraduate qualification in teaching (or equivalent) and/or a higher degree (PhD or Masters) in dietetics or healthcare management are desirable.

This is a full time (36.25 hours), permanent position. Job share arrangements may be considered.

We are excited to offer this opportunity to work as a Skylight Psychologist in our West London service based in Brent. Working as part of a wider team of Clinical Psychologists in Crisis you will be an integral part of the local Skylight team, leading on psychologically informed practice and delivery of psychological services.

This role brings a real opportunity to be creative and flexible in our approach to working psychologically with people who face multiple disadvantages, and to support the staff teams via training and reflective practice. There are opportunities to provide direct support as well as working extensively with local teams and other parts of the organisation to influence policy and practice developments.

We are looking for someone with post qualification experience of working within complex systems and you may have direct experience of working with people who experience homelessness. As we have grown as a service, the team is also able to support more newly qualified Psychologists via our preceptorship program, and so we are pleased to also offer this as a development post.
