Job overview

The Oxford Centre for Diabetes, Endocrinology and Metabolism(OCDEM) has an exciting opportunity for an senior nursing assistant to join the team. The role will consist of working alongside and supporting  members of the Diabetes, Lipid, Endocrine and Podiatry Teams, helping to care for patients attending the  services within OCDEM. The role will be interesting/educational and rewarding.

OCDEM is open Monday to Friday and core hours for this role are 8-4pm, Mon to Friday.

We are looking for candidates who have experience checking vital signs and phlebotomy skills.

Main duties of the job

 

Assisting  staff

Supporting patients

Phlebotomy

Performing ECG

Performing Visual Fields

Performing/documenting clinical measurements and recording on EPR

Main responsibilities are to support the teams working within OCDEM

To support patients emotionally and clinically through their individual clinical pathway.

Education, training and qualif

Essential criteria
  • To demonstrate literacy and numeracy
  • Good command of spoken English assessed at interview

  • Evidence of level 2 Apprenticeship or Diploma in Health related subject.

Clinical Practice

  • Significant experience of the NHS and/or health/child care and an interest in the speciality with knowledge of wider issues relating to health care.
