Are you a Modern Matron or are you ready to step up into a Modern Matron role?

We are seeking an experienced senior nurse to join the team to work within the Oxford and BSW Mental Health Directorate of Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust.

If you are an experienced senior nurse who is passionate about CAMHS and Eating Disorders Services inpatient care then joining our team within Oxford Health which covers 5 units based between the Oxford and Swindon could be your next ideal career move.

You will have oversight of 2 Eating Disorder Units, 2 General Adolescent Units and 1 CAMHS Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and will need to be ambitious and have a positive attitude with excellent interpersonal skills in order to succeed in this role. 

Main duties of the job

You will work closely with the Modern Matrons who lead their respective teams as well as with Senior Matrons from across the directorate and the Head of Service and Professional Lead for Nursing.  

Having the ability to work effectively with others and develop strong working relationships across the organisation and partnership agencies is key.

We are also looking for someone who is able to work flexibly and be responsive to the needs of the service. This role requires the successful applicant to develop close working links with a wide range of teams including, community adult/older adult teams and service leads in addition to the Acute hospitals.

We are looking for someone able to evidence strong leadership and management skills, and who can help the service meet the needs of all individuals who require an inpatient stay.

Essential criteria
  • Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN)
Desirable criteria
  • Educated to Masters/degree/ Management course

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Significant experience of working in Adult mental Health services
  • Experience of leading and developing Mental Health teams
Desirable criteria
  • Evidence of coproduction in service development

Skills

Essential criteria
  • Evidence of the ability to lead on integration of service development, theory and practice
  • Demonstrate the ability to provide expert general and mental health nursing advice to a multidisciplinary team
  • Evidence the ability to promote social inclusion for service users across a range of cultural diversities.
Desirable criteria
  • Report writing and IT skills
