Knowledge Requirements

Good understanding of forensic mental health and learning disability care pathways, including interfaces between hospitals and other providers, integrated care systems, NHS-led Provider Collaboratives and the impact that any failure in the system will have on patients/carers.
Robust understanding of all aspects of clinical governance including quality, audit, and risk/safety management.
In depth understanding of complex health, social care, and criminal justice systems.

Further Training or Job Related Aptitude and Skills

Evidence of continuing professional development; up to date knowledge of current health policy, clinical practice, and research developments in relation to AHP therapies in mental health and learning disability contexts.
Demonstrable team-working skills and ability to lead and manage a range of individuals some of whom may work across specialty and organisational boundaries.
Sophisticated communication and presentation skills and ability to present to a wide range of audiences in different situations, using a range of media.

Experience

Experience of working in mental health services.
Significant management experience effective (complex) staff management and supervision.
Significant experience of delivering change in the context of service redesign, to improve outcomes for patients, working with management teams, clinical staff, service users and other stakeholders.
Experience of working as part of a multi-disciplinary senior leadership team, able to provide an AHP perspective to strategic planning, service development, & operational delivery.

All new starters have a 6 month probationary period. This, together with the induction process, aims to create a positive supportive working environment allowing new employees to learn key elements of their role over a reasonable timescale

Salary: £40,521 to £56,021 per annum (pro-rata if applicable) depending on skills and experience. Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance.

Applications are invited for the above post from UK registered Dietitians (or those eligible for registration). This offers an exciting opportunity to be involved in the dietetic education at the University of Nottingham and would be suitable for candidates with prior experience in higher education or practicing Dietitians who wish to embark on such a career. Applications are particularly welcome from those who have recent experience of working in public health or associated areas.

The post is based within the Division of Food, Nutrition and Dietetics in the School of Biosciences. The School offers a four-year integrated undergraduate Master’s degree in Dietetics and Nutrition (MNutr) leading to eligibility to apply for registration in dietetics with the Health and Care Professions Council. The Division also delivers other Nutrition-related degrees, including a three-year BSc degree in Nutrition, which has been accredited by the Association for Nutrition, and a BSc in Food Sciences and Nutrition. In addition, we also offer a MSc in Clinical Nutrition, as well as MSc in Nutritional Sciences.

The successful candidate will be expected to predominantly contribute to the teaching and related administration of a number of modules within the programmes associated with our dietetics associated degrees, but they will also make contributions to our nutrition-related degrees.

Current registration as a Dietitian in the UK (or be eligible for such registration) is an essential requirement for the role. A postgraduate qualification in teaching (or equivalent) and/or a higher degree (PhD or Masters) in dietetics or healthcare management are desirable.

This is a full time (36.25 hours), permanent position. Job share arrangements may be considered.

Clinical/Counselling/Forensic Psychologist or Psychological Therapist

We are excited to offer this opportunity to work as a Skylight Psychologist in our West London service based in Brent. Working as part of a wider team of Clinical Psychologists in Crisis you will be an integral part of the local Skylight team, leading on psychologically informed practice and delivery of psychological services.

This role brings a real opportunity to be creative and flexible in our approach to working psychologically with people who face multiple disadvantages, and to support the staff teams via training and reflective practice. There are opportunities to provide direct support as well as working extensively with local teams and other parts of the organisation to influence policy and practice developments.

We are looking for someone with post qualification experience of working within complex systems and you may have direct experience of working with people who experience homelessness. As we have grown as a service, the team is also able to support more newly qualified Psychologists via our preceptorship program, and so we are pleased to also offer this as a development post.
