Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust has been rated as Good by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

We are a responsive and innovative Foundation Trust that places our values of Caring, Safe and Excellent at the heart of everything we do. We take great pride in our staff and believe that investing in you is key to us achieving our vision of outstanding care delivered by outstanding people.

We work with a wide range of partner organisations to deliver care and support to people in their own homes and from a number of hospitals and community bases. We focus on delivering care as close to home as possible for people of all ages across Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Swindon, Wiltshire, Bath and North East Somerset.

Job overview

A rewarding opportunity has arisen within the South Buckinghamshire Older Adult Community Mental Health Team (OACMHT) for a professional and dedicated Deputy Team Manager.

We are seeking a skilled and experienced registered Mental Health Nurse, Occupational Therapist or Social Worker who enjoys working with Older Adults and wants to make a difference in the services we provide. We want you to join our senior leadership team to support our staff and patients.

Our team is vibrant, fun and enjoy regular away days, and social outings! We are based in our newly refurbished Mental Health Hub based at Saffron House, High Wycombe which is close to the local train and bus station (5min walk) and close to the M40 motorway.

We provide a range of services including Mental Health Assessment and treatment, Enhanced Duty Response and Step-up care.  Moving away from working as Care Co-ordinators we want Clinicians to provide interventional based care.  We benefit from having a specific Social Care team working alongside us.

Saffron House benefits from being situated at an accessible location, close to the local train and bus stations as well as the M40 motorway.

This role carries an incentive premium of £3,500 (pro-rata) which will be paid in instalments over an 18 month period.  Please note that this scheme is not open to existing employees of Oxford Health and is subject to a claw back clause. Further information will be provided.

Main duties of the job

As Deputy Team Manager you will be a leader and provide Line management and supervision to junior clinicians.  Working as part of the Senior Leadership team you will support the Team Manager with Service development and we offer training opportunities to help you grow and master skills.  Holding a small complex caseload will allow you to lead by example and still have that important patient contact whilst developing your management skills.

We take pride in working with our patients and so we want you to have a caring and committed attitude with a strong understanding of the needs of older adults with a variety of mental health needs.  The Older Adult Community Mental health teamwork is demanding, complex and diverse but we are a small, cohesive team who are committed to supporting each other and we enjoy what we do!

By joining our team, you are joining an enthusiastic and passionate team where staff well-being is at the top of the agenda.

Regular supervision will be provided, and you will be encouraged to undertake any training relevant to your professional and personal development. There will be opportunities for you to gain management and leadership training. You will also work closely with our HR mentor and be supported closely by your colleagues, Team Manager and Service Manager.
