An exciting opportunity has arisen for a permanent Senior Clinical Educator for Cardiology Ward/ACCU

Based at the John Radcliffe Hospital, the Senior Clinical Educator will provide leadership and development for the clinical educators on the Cardiology Ward/ACCU. They will represent practice development and education on behalf of the clinical area.

A highly experienced practitioner with specialist knowledge, the post holder will be active in supporting and furthering quality and governance  structures. They will also be engaged with audit, service improvement and research.

The role includes collating the yearly training needs within Cardiac Medicine and allocating funding.

Coordination of learner placements in partnership with internal and external stakeholders.

·                Work across boundaries to proactively develop and sustain partnerships

The Senior Clinical Educator will provide management and development support to junior educators. in the Cardiology Ward/ACCU setting.  Through the design and implementation of education the practice development practitioner will contribute to interprofessional learning and clinical excellence.  In order to deliver education that meets service needs and priorities the practice development practitioner will work collaboratively with clinical managers, the corporate education team, and external partners.

  • Registered Nurse
  • Evidence of specialist knowledge of Cardiac Medicine
  • Having or working towards a post-graduate certificate in teaching
  • Evidence of experience & qualifications in supervising & assessing learners
  • Health related recognised degree relevant to post
  • Evidence of study at Level 7
  • Familiar with and able to effectively use common office software
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development
