Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Cold Preparation Area

   Assist with the preparation of food rotate stock & check all use by dates

   Assist with plating of patient meals, and the preparation of meals for the bulk service.

    To visit designated wards at lunch/supper times, transfer the chilled food     Check ward kitchen fridges and record temperatures in books provided.

  To assist with the cleaning of the Catering Department and/or assist in the Central Dishwashing area  areas using the correct colour coded system and appropriate equipment provided after training in the use of electrically operated machinery, floor scrubber, etc.

.    To report any food item shortages and or food wastage,

   Other duties in the kitchen area and associated areas as and when required.

      Assist with any incoming deliveries from suppliers.

Dish washes Area:

     Assist with the preparation of food and equipment for lunch/supper service.

 Assist in areas using the correct colour coded system and appropriate equipment        provided after training in the use of electrically operated machinery Dishwasher, floor scrubber etc

 To assist in the dish wash area, ensuring all crockery & cutlery are clean.

 To clean all crockery trolleys, food trolleys, and oven sections at ward level and   tray trolleys from restaurant.

 To clean the cold preparation area service equipment.

 To ensure the dish wash area & dishwasher is cleaned thoroughly on a daily basis.

 Other duties in the dish wash as requested.

. To report any issues relating to cleaning stock amounts & breakdown of any equipment.

 on occasion deliver & collect patient menu’s to & from wards and return them  to the catering office.

 

.    To assist in cleaning and filling vending machines, rotation of stock & checking sell by dates of food items completing cleaning, stock & temperature sheets & reporting vending machine breakdowns promptly.To check,clean & restock snack box fridge.

  To deliver hospitality trollies, stores and provisions
