Do you like working with children both at home and at school?

Are you a qualified Occupational Therapist with passion and drive for developing your clinical skills in a changeable environment?

Self-motivated and able to work autonomously as well as showing initiative and promoting new ideas on how to improve the service?

Compassionate, caring and creative with excellent communication skills?

We are looking for a qualified Occupational Therapist, ideally with experience in paediatrics and/ or working with children to join the Children’s Integrated Therapy team.  You will have the opportunity to work in the South of Oxfordshire with bases in Wallingford and Abingdon.

 

Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd

You will be part of the Children’s Integrated Therapy team, providing specialist Occupational Therapy for children and young people with a range of needs including complex disability. They will have responsibility for their own caseload, as an autonomous practitioner, adapting their approach to meet the needs of the child in a range of settings including patient’s own homes, clinics and schools.

You will work with the professional leads and team leaders to ensure an efficient, high quality therapy service is delivered which is evidence-based and centred around the needs of the child/young person.

You will provide line management and clinical leadership for qualified and non-qualified staff working at lower grades.

You will work jointly with other members of the multi-disciplinary team including Education, Social and Health Care, and will support the EHCP process and delivery of recommended provision.

Qualifications

  • Member of the RCOT
  • Evidence of CPD maintained within a portfolio

Skills & Experience

  • Post graduate experience including a range of clinical placements within the NHS which includes paediatric services
  • Experience of Therapy Outcome Measures, TOMs and specific assessment tools for children
  • Experience of contributing to education of children, young people, families, colleagues in health and education settings
  • Demonstrates excellent communication skills in pressurised and stressful environments
  • Demonstrates excellent presentation skills to deliver reports verbal and written information including being an expert witness for SENIST appeals
  • Understanding of the statutory / legal requirements for working within the specialty including a working knowledge of the SEND code of practice

  • Community paediatric experience including working in schools
