If you are looking for an interesting and varied role and would like to work as part of a friendly, fast paced and growing team, we would like to welcome your application for the below position.
A post has arisen for the role of Patient Pathway Co-ordinator within the Gastroenterology Department within Kingsmill Hospital. This is primarily to deal with our new Insourcing service on a fixed term/secondment basis for six months. This would be ideal for anyone in the trust of any banding who is looking to gain experience within the PPC administration role or would like to learn a new speciality.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated team player with empathy, compassion, an excellent communicator & good problem solving skills. You will require high levels of tact and diplomacy with the ability to prioritise your own workload effectively to enable day to day management.
You will be working with a highly efficient team of Patient Pathway Co-ordinators, Clinical Typists and Records Assistants.
Main duties of the job
The role of a Patient Pathway Coordinator is similar to a Medical Secretary role in which you will provide high quality administrative support to the Gastro Service.
On a day to day basis this would involve:
• General admin, receiving and managing incoming post and referrals and distributing out to the Consultants and nurses.
• Dealing with phone calls, emails and face to face queries from Patients and Colleagues.
• Managing the Patient tracking list to ensure all patients are treated within a timely manner and adhering to National operating standards.
• Booking patient appointments.
• Audio typing.
• Managing consultant diaries and annual leave, cancelling clinics when needed.

Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Computer literate, with experience of using a keyboard with a high level of accuracy.
- Knowledge of NHS or service provider in general
- Thorough knowledge of healthcare administrative systems and processes
- Knowledge of databases, spreadsheets i.e. PAS, Excel or similar applications
