Join our dynamic team at the Aseptic Dispensing Unit, Sherwood Forest Hospitals! We are looking for passionate individuals ready to make a difference. If you have completed your course and are awaiting professional registration, we want to hear from you!

Main duties of the job
- Be a Registered Pharmacy Technician with the GPHC or a Registered Science Manufacturing Technician with the Science Council.
- Hold BTEC/NVQ Level 3 in Pharmaceutical Sciences or Science Manufacturing.
- Have experience working in an Aseptic Dispensing Unit.
- Applicants awaiting qualification will be considered.

Knowledge Requirements
Essential criteria
- Knowledge of dispensing processes
- Keyboard skills
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice and COSHH regulations
- Knowledge of specialised production technical practice.
Desirable criteria
- Knowledge of Good manufacturing Practice
- Knowledge of COSHH regulations
- Further IT skills including ‘word’ and ‘Excel’ programs
Qualifications
Essential criteria
- NVQ 3 / BTEC in pharmaceutical science or equivalent
- Registered Technician with General Pharmaceutical Council
Desirable criteria
- A levels
Further Training
Essential criteria
- To have completed in house training for preparation of intrathecal injections, or be willing to do so and undertake annual update
- Validated to check volumes and drug additions, or be willing to undertake validation.
- Validated aseptic technique, or be willing to undertake validation
- Validation involves 3 monthly broth transfer tests.
- Validated, or be willing to undertake annual transfer validations
Experience
Essential criteria
- Recent and up-to-date post qualification hospital pharmacy experience
- Aseptic work experience
- Good verbal and written communication skills
Desirable criteria
- Hospital pharmacy experience, including aseptic production work
Contractual Requirements
Essential criteria
- Regular attendance
- Ability to work weekends/bank holidays.
- Neonatal on call rota
- No long-term infectious diseases or drug allergies precluding sterile/non-sterile production work.
- Regular fire lectures and manual handling training
- Annual intrathecal training and on register for preparation of intrathecal injections
Desirable criteria
- Ability to travel between hospital sites.
- Required to travel between sites
- Telephone owner
