Job overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic candidate who is passionate about offering evidence-based individualised breast/chestfeeding support to women and birthing parents as part of the Lime Green Infant Feeding Team at Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Trust.

The team, which celebrated its 10-year anniversary in 2023, has an opening for a new team member working mainly in the Mansfield area providing individualised and culturally safe breast/chestfeeding support, antenatally and postnatally, for local families in their home, and in the hospital.  

The successful candidate will need to have organisational skills and be able to work both on their own and within a team to manage daily workload and also be flexible to support colleagues in other teams outside own assigned geographical area if necessary. 

This exciting role also includes providing infant feeding education both face to face and in a class situation, supporting with staff training, audits and administration tasks.  

The successful candidate will need to be a able to drive and have access to their own vehicle daily.

Essential criteria
  • Ability to speak and write English fluently
  • Evidence of good written and oral communication skills
  • Able to communicate with and disseminate information from the multidisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrates understanding of the importance of supportive working in a team
  • Ability to understand and adhere to the equal opportunities policy
  • Ability to articulate reasons for wishing to work in this clinical specialty area at this grade
  • Demonstrates awareness of audit and quality issues
  • Previous experience of working with members of the public
  • Understanding of Safeguarding issues

Qualifications

  • GCSE Maths & English Grades A-C, Levels 4-9, Functional Skills Level 2 or equivalent
  • NVQ Level 3 in Health care or equivalent experience
  • Care certificate

  • Foundation Degree Maternity Pathway
