Job overview

Are you a skilled administrator seeking a rewarding opportunity to make a direct impact on patient care? We are currently looking for a dedicated Senior Ward Administrator to join our dynamic team in the Maternity Department at King's Mill Hospital.

The Senior Ward Administrator will play a pivotal role in providing administrative support to the Senior Leadership Team, Ward Leaders and Specialist Midwives  within the Maternity Team. Your efforts will contribute to the smooth and effective performance of duties, making a direct and positive impact on the team's work.

You will have a large amount of autonomy and as a result you'll need to be comfortable working independently and taking accountability for your own workload.

Key repsonsibilities of the role include:

  • Providing exceptional administrative support to Senior Leadership Team, Ward Leaders and Specialist Midwives
  •  Ensuring seamless coordination of daily operations within the Maternity Department
  •  Contributing directly to the positive and efficient functioning of the Maternity team.

Knowledge Requirements

Essential criteria
  • Must be able to clearly and accurately convey information verbally

Qualifications

  • RSA II or III word processing/ text processing or equivalent
  • Educated to GCSE level in English and Maths
  • NVQ level 2 or 3 in administration or equivalent

Further Training

Essential criteria
  • Demonstrate a keenness to learn and develop new skills
  • Demonstrate willingness to train other staff

Experience

Essential criteria
  • typing & administration experience
  • Experience of using Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel
  • Demonstrate understanding of patient/ client confidentiality
  • Previous experience of working in the NHS
  • Experience of Nursing Metrics
