Job overview

We are currently seeking an highly competent and confident Critical Care Outreach Nurse who is proficient in both critical care and outreach nursing to join our amazing team!

You'll be required to utilise your clinical expertise and specialist knowledge to deliver high quality evidence/research based care and interventions to the critically ill deteriorating ward-based patients.

Knowledge Requirements

Essential criteria
  • Substantial experience in Critical Care
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of working in critical care outreach
  • Insight into working within the critical care environment

Qualifications Academic/ Craft/ Professional

Essential criteria
  • Registered General Nurse
  • Post basic qualification in critical care (Degree level or above)
  • Aims / ILS/ equivalent
  • ENB 998 / FLIPS or equivalent
Desirable criteria
  • ALS qualification to complete if successful
  • (APACS) Advanced physical assessment course MSc or willingness to complete
  • (NMP) Non-medical prescribing MSc or willingness to complete

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Advanced level of critical care
  • Experience of implementing change commitment to continuing professional development
  • Teaching skills
  • Excellent record keeping /Computer literacy skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Positive and enthusiastic
  • Adaptable and flexible
  • IV drug administration
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of delivering multi professional educational programmes
  • Commitment to furthering critical care education and practice
  • Arterial blood gas sampling
  • Cannulation/venopuncture
  • ECG analysis
