Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, enthusiastic, well- motivated Band 7 sonographer to join or busy, friendly team. The successful candidate must hold a Post Graduate Diploma in Medical Ultrasound or Equivalent and be HCPC registered.
Our ultrasound department has a team of sonographers who cover the core elements of general medical, obstetrics and gynaecology ultrasound including early pregnancy and also specialist roles including MSK, neonatal hips and heads, head and neck and contrast enhanced ultrasound. We are a progressive, expanding department who actively encourage and support role development and CPD. You will be responsible for reporting all of your own work and are expected to participate in the training of student sonographers.
The role will include travel to our other sites at Mansfield Community and Newark Hospitals. We are currently in the process of creating a Community Diagnostic Centre on the Mansfield Community Hospital Site and Ultrasound will be part of this development.

Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Underpinning theory and professional knowledge acquired through diploma/degree
Desirable criteria
- Specialist expertise, underpinned by theory and practical experience acquired through diploma/ degree/post graduate study.
Qualifications
Essential criteria
- DCR ® or BSc (Hons Radiography
- DMU or Post graduate qualification in ultrasound at M level
- Evidence of further study
- HPC registered
Desirable criteria
- Teaching skills
- Counselling course

- Ability to report on own scans
Experience

- Supervisory experience
- Previous NHS experience
- This may be supplemented by short courses + CPD.

Contractual

- May have to work extended days or 1-8 shifts
- On call Sunday for EPU
