Job overview
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Senior Health Care Support Worker to join our team. In this role, you will deliver high-quality care to patients with a variety of respiratory conditions, ensuring their safety and comfort.
Join our dedicated team at the Respiratory Support Unit (RSU), a 24-bed unit specializing in the care of patients with acute and chronic lung diseases. At RSU, we are committed to providing exceptional care and support to patients requiring respiratory assistance and those with airway obstructions.

- Able to work flexibly on a varied shift pattern according to the roster including nights and weekends
Experience
Essential criteria
- Able to demonstrate clear and robust verbal and written English communication skills
- Experience of working as part of a team
- Previous care work experience
- Previous face-to-face customer care experience
Desirable criteria
- Previous experience in a hospital setting
Qualifications- Academic/Craft/Professional
Essential criteria
- NVQ 3 in care or willingness to work towards
- Educated to a good standard of general education equivalent to GCSE Maths & English level C or above
- Care Certificate or commitment to achieving within 2 weeks of commencement
Desirable criteria
- “Care Certificate” qualification
Knowledge Requirements
Essential criteria
- Demonstrate good communication skills and understanding of basic requirements for individual patient care
- Recognise people’s right to privacy and dignity, treating every person with respect
