Revamping delivery services and implementing a care unit structure using a triumvirate leadership approach has created the opportunity for two Associate Director of Operations roles.

Our aim is to grow our leadership with a focus on making a difference to the communities we serve by delivering the highest quality physical and mental health care to our patients, and by tackling inequalities in outcomes, experience, and access.

Main duties of the job

Reporting directly to the Care Unit Directors, these roles offer the opportunity to influence, inspire, innovate, and enthuse at every layer of the organisation with clear expectations to lead the operational management of the Care Unit.

We seek credible leaders who can lead with compassion and clarity, creating a culture of learning, improvement, engagement, and belonging. Candidates should have experience at Senior operational level with a proven track record of driving performance, service re-design and budget and people management.

The post holder is a key member of the Care Unit Leadership; and will contribute to the development and delivery of Trust strategy, business and service plans and objectives. In addition to, building and maintaining effective working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, (including service users/carers), and strategic partners. They will lead and manage a number of Service Units and deputise for the Deputy Care Group Director as and when required and necessary.

Qualifications

  • Managerial or professional knowledge acquired through Masters degree, supplemented by specialist training to doctorate or equivalent level, management qualification or equivalent experience .
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development, particularly in leadership and/or strategy.

  • Recognised leadership qualification

Experience

  • Significant and senior level experience of NHS, social care, local authorities and more broadly across the government, private and voluntary sector providers.
  • Demonstrable track record of achievement in leading and implementing change in a large-scale complex organisation.
  • Highly developed analytical, political and judgment skills alongside excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiating skills.
  • A working knowledge and understanding of present health policy in relation to services provided by the Trust and expectations of stakeholders.
  • Significant experience of service transformation, care pathways and new models of care.
  • Experience of involving service users and carers in service redesign and improvement.
  • Significant experience of managing and motivating diverse and multi-professional teams, transforming cultures.
  • Experience of negotiating contracts.
  • Experience of working in partnership with other NHS Trusts / primary care services / voluntary sector.
  • Experience in the management of large budgets
  • Significant experience and strategic thinking and planning skills required
