An opportunity has arisen for a Healthcare Support Worker to join  Retford & Villages  Community Nursing Team who provide a high standard of care to patients in Retford and the surrounding area's.  

Main duties of the job

Do you want to be part of an Integrated Care Team providing high quality care to patients in the Retford  area?

If so please apply as we have a vacancy for a Band 3 Community Support Worker.

You will work under the direction of qualified District and  Community Nurses to be part of a team to deliver nursing interventions to people in their own homes and Residential Homes.

The roles require individuals to have good communication skills to ensure close working relationships with acute care services, Community care teams, General Practitioners, Social Care teams and other multidisciplinary teams.

We will provide you with a structured induction and training period to ensure you have the opportunity to develop new skills and competence.

Please note that this post does not meet the pay level required for a Skilled worker visa.
Successful applicants with no prior NHS experience would normally be placed at the bottom of the band in line with Agenda for Change. This salary is below the minimum salary required for sponsorship for a Skilled Worker / Health & Care visa. In these circumstances the Trust would not, therefore, be able to sponsor for a Skilled Worker / Health & Care visa.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • NVQ III in Health and Social Care, Care Certificate or equivalent or equivalent experience

Skills

Essential criteria
  • Ability to work as part of a team Good written/oral communication skills Diplomatic, caring & sympathetic Ability to be flexible Developed observations skills with the ability to report and record physical/mental health observations of incidents or events and behaviours in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Standard keyboard skills
Desirable criteria
  • Venepuncture

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of working in a Healthcare setting
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of therapy/rehabilitation setting

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • To have a basic understanding of the different types of physical illness and maintain an understanding and caring approach to patients.

Contractual Requirements

  • A full UK driving licence and vehicle for business use is required for this post; however reasonable adjustments will be made for disabled individuals in line with the Equality Act 2010.
  • Ability to work to meet the needs of the service.
