Main duties of the job
The post holder will be a key part of the clinical team implementing and maintaining the electronic prescribing and medicines management (EPMA) system throughout the Trust.
They will work with, and support, the Lead Pharmacist EPMA, Health Informatics and the EPMA Team on the implementation and operational management of the Trust's EPMA system to ensure that the goals of the overall project plan are met.
A full UK driving licence and vehicle for business use is required for this post; however reasonable adjustments will be made for disabled individuals in line with the Equality Act 2010.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The post holder will play a key role in the development and will co-ordinate the delivery of high quality, effective, multidisciplinary training and education within the Trust, which meets individual training needs and facilitates the personal development of staff for the EPMA implementation.
They will support the co-ordination of planning, preparation and delivery of training as well as learner support for all clinical and non-clinical users of the EPMA system.
The post holder will provide practical support to the clinical teams and take forward new ways of working related to EPMA within a clinical setting and continually seek service improvement.
The post holder will be required to assist in the day to day running of a highly complex electronic clinical platform, supporting all users with troubleshooting, education, data and business continuity processes as required and triaging the need to escalate to the technical team.
Please note that this post does not meet the pay level required for a Skilled worker visa. Successful applicants with no prior NHS experience would normally be placed at the bottom of the band in line with Agenda for Change. This salary is below the minimum salary required for sponsorship for a Skilled Worker / Health & Care visa. In these circumstances the Trust would not, therefore, be able to sponsor for a Skilled Worker / Health & Care visa.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Recognised training, coaching or mentoring qualification, or equivalent experience.
- To be educated to a degree-level, or equivalent experience.
Desirable criteria
- Project management or IM&T related qualificiation.
- A1 NVQ assessor.
Experience
Essential criteria
- Significant hospital pharmacy or equivalent experience
- Experience of databases, data analysis, reporting, in particular familiarity with EPMA.
- Experience in training others/staff mentoring.
Desirable criteria
- EPMA system management experience.
- Experience of working in the NHS.
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Specialist knowledge of electronic prescribing and related systems, and their applicability in a range of NHS contexts.
- Knowledge and awareness of NHS changes and understanding of pharmacy systems and health informatics issues within the NHS.
Desirable criteria
- Knowledge of use of medicines within hospital and community settings.
- Knowledge of prescribing and medicines supply processes.
- Knowledge of medicines and their uses and an awareness of the implications of drug-related errors.
Skills
Essential criteria
- Problem identification and solving: methodical and logical approach with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills, where tasks might require adjustment due to variable workload and where there might be competing demands or deadlines.
Desirable criteria
- Familiar with any or all of the following: (i) EPMA systems (ii) the EMIS (ASCribe) and (iii) JAC (Well Sky) hospital IT systems.
