This is a split role (50:50) between the Medicine Management Technician (MMT) and Specialist HIV.

As a registered Pharmacy Technician, you will work with the HIV service and the MMT teams as well as the wider Multidisciplinary team (MDT) in both areas. Developments in the treatment of HIV have led to the introduction of a number of effective treatments while the role of MMT is expanding in diverse ways within NUH. You will be responsible for the provision of high-quality HIV homecare services and MMT by:

 1.     Supporting and developing the quality of patients’ pharmaceutical care within outpatient HIV services at NUH, through the provision of a professional and effective medicines management service

2.     Assisting with the registration and maintenance of the homecare service for patients living with HIV.

3.     Conducting adherence reviews, drug histories and medication switch counselling for outpatients living with HIV.

4.     Assisting in the education and training of multidisciplinary staff

5.     To take full part in the 7-day shifted rota and bank holiday duties

  • Shifted and bank holiday duties: To participate in departmental weekend, bank holiday and late duty working as required. At the time of advertising, the weekend rota encompasses 2 half-day shifts every 4/5 weeks at the city campus or 1 full day shift every 4 weeks at the QMC campus.  In addition, the post holder will participate in a system of flexible shifts to facilitate NUH pharmacy opening times.
