FELLOWSHIP IN GLAUCOMA - OPHTHALMOLOGY
Applications are invited from suitably qualified ophthalmologists for one funded post for a period of 12 months to start April 2025.
This post is designed as a post CCST position, Specialist Registrars nearing completion of training or equivalent will also be considered. Please note however that the period may not be accredited for CCST training by the Royal College of Ophthalmologists.
Main duties of the job
This is an opportunity for a dynamic and motivated individual to gain extensive experience in Glaucoma whilst working within a busy ophthalmic teaching department that provides Eye Casualty, inpatient and outpatient services that include a comprehensive range of sub specialties. The successful candidate will be a key member of an enthusiastic team of medical staff providing a quality service to a busy department.
As part of our commitment to provide the best care to our patients, we will in the near future be extending our Ophthalmology service to include some evening, weekend and bank holiday work. As a member of the team you will be expected to participate in the provision of this extended service on a rota basis.

During 2022/2023 the department had 6,164 admissions/day cases and 101,250 out-patient attendances which included patients seen on-site and within a community setting and the ophthalmic eye casualty department had 24,074 attendances. Together with other activities the department handled over 138,000 patient episodes during the period.

- Full GMC registration
- MRCOphth or equivalent

- Full general ophthalmic training with experience in glaucoma

- Evidence of audit or research experience
Applicant requirements
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
