We have an opportunity for a Therapy Assistant to join the Outpatient Trauma Occupational Therapy Team at QMC and The Treatment Centre.
The Therapy Assistant will join the trauma outpatient Occupational Therapy service. The post is full time, working Monday – Friday and possibly supporting with the Trauma weekend rota.
You will work closely with the clinical team supporting with stock management, maintaining clinical equipment, aiding with clinical and also some administrative duties.
Experience of working in the health or care setting is expected, training will be given in relation to the specifics of the role. Whilst the Trauma Outpatient OT team is small, you will be joining a wider pool of MSK therapists and support workers at QMC, Treatment Centre and City Hospital.

Under the guidance of experienced clinicians you will:
Deliver individual or group rehabilitation and education programmes to help people recover from acute hand / upper limb injury
Deliver individual or group prescribed treatments subject to clinical competency.
Assist clinicians with the flow of patients coming to OT through fracture clinic, including the triage of referrals.
Assist with holding limbs whilst clinicians fit splints and braces. Subject to training and competency this may include fitting some off the shelf splints and braces.
Supporting with clinic and diary management.
Daily stock management for the clinical areas at QMC and Treatment Centre.
Delivery of user surveys to assist with service development.
Complete appropriate clinical documentation and statistical information relating to patient care, including E-noting, registering referrals, outcomes and booking appointments.
