Job overview

The Nottingham Auditory Implant Programme is an ever growing service that requires the support of a Waiting List / Outpatient Coordinator.

We are looking for an enthusiastic team player with excellent organisational and communication skills with a keen eye for detail, able to accurately input and interpret data. The successful candidate will be an essential member of the multi-disciplinary team responsible for the management of the waiting lists in accordance with Government Access Targets and Trust’s Access Policy, ensuring delivery of a high quality patient service.

The role is full-time based at Ropewalk House Campus, working Monday to Friday with the core office hours covering 8.00am – 4.30pm. 

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills with proven experience of working within a clerical environment.  You will be working closely with the clinical team to deliver quality care to assessment and post-operative patients. You will co-ordinate the booking of appointments and theatre admissions, ensuring referrals are dealt with efficiently You will need to be able to prioritise your workload with constantly changing demands, meet agreed deadlines and use your own initiative.  You will be supporting the administration team and Deputy Service Manager to ensure the delivery of ambitious targets. 

This is a fairly small administration team and roles are varied.  You will be expected to take on a wide variety of administrative functions and provide cover for the tasks of your colleagues. You will therefore need to be adaptable and flexible in your approach to work and committed to providing a first class patient experience.

Training & Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Educated to GCSE standard with passes at grade C or above for English and Maths or similar through vocational training
  • Excellent IT and keyboard skills including microsoft office
  • Good command of the English language – both written and spoken
  • NVQ Level 4 or equivalent

Communication and relationship skills

Essential criteria
  • Can answer factual questions clearly and concisely
  • Excellent communication and customer care skills

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Proven experience of waiting list management within the NHS
  • Proven experience of working within a clerical environment
  • Demonstrate excellent organisational and prioritisation skills
Desirable criteria
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Experience of working with a multi-disciplinary team
