Job overview
We are looking for a candidate experienced in the design and delivery of high quality evidenced based team development. This will be to support the management and delivery of NUH team development offers.
Additionally the role will support organisational development initiatives and interventions that enable leaders at NUH to achieve their full potential, creating high performing teams, compassionate and inclusive cultures and delivery of high quality care.
The role is approximately 70% team development and 20% leadership development 10% OD initiatives.
This post sits within an OD structure of 2 Senior OD Service leads (8a) and 2 additional OD programme leads (B7). The post will manage 1 OD practitioner who will support in the delivery of team development.

Main duties of the job
The role reports into the Senior Organisational Development Service Lead who co-manages the OD team and will be accountable for the delivery of the culture and leadership strategy, the day to day operational elements of the team, and the OD agenda.
Working with Organisational Development colleagues your primary role is the design, delivery and management of high quality leadership development programmes. The post requires managing OD project leads who will be involved in delivering leadership and culture development at NUH.
You will be comfortable working at a fast pace to meet deadlines, often dealing with ambiguity whilst maintaining high standards and acting as an ambassador for the department.
Whilst your workload will vary over time, we anticipate it will be split approximately as follows:
- Training design and delivery: 70%
- Leadership development: 20%
- Other Culture and Leadership / Trust priority work: 10%

You will be required to work flexibly and with agility across the Trust and external sites as needed, with a base at the City Campus. Currently there is a degree of hybrid (home and office based) working.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The primary role is the design, delivery and management of high quality Leadership development programmes
Additionally the role is to:
1. Support the Organisational Development leadership team in the management and delivery of a number pieces of work that support the Trust’s strategic priorities
2. Contribute to the development of the NUH strategic programmes such as Culture and Leadership Values & Behaviours, bespoke OD interventions that support QI and staff engagement
3. Research, review and make proposals linked to new and emerging NUH policy and procedures
4. Deputise for the Organisational Development Manager or Assistant Director of Learning and Organisational Development as required
5. Work to ensure alignment between the various OD projects, the overall aims and objectives of the department and the Trusts strategic priorities
6. Using the OD Consultancy Cycle initiate new evidence based approaches to support the modernisation and development of QI in conjunction with Clinical Leads and Service Managers.
7. Line manage and support the development of direct reports, ensuring best practice is shared both within and across teams.
