Job overview
We are looking for a fixed term (9 months) B5 Audit and Evaluation Manager to join our cancer psychology team. This is a 0.4 wte position.
You will work alongside a Consultant Clinical Psychologist, and other Clinical Psychologists as part of a supportive and caring team of cancer psychologists. You will manage the collection of activity and performance data from the team to contribute to a national evaluation of cancer psychology services, overseen by Macmillan.

The post holder will be responsible for collecting data from multiple Trust systems and clinicians, and liaising internally and externally with different partners to ensure the evaluation data set is as complete and high quality as possible.
This is a role where you will be able to use a range of project management skills, and make a significant difference to the lives of people living with cancer by helping the cancer psychology service continually improve.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
• Manage the compilation of activity and performance data from the Macmillan Cancer Psychology Nottingham service
• Compile anonymised individual patient data from multiple Trust data systems and clinicians in the Cancer Psychology service
• Maintain and store activity and performance datasets confidentially and securely
• Liaise closely with Macmillan and their appointed evaluation partners to ensure the data meets their requirements and respond to their queries
• Support the cancer psychology team to recruit patients and healthcare staff to participate in evaluation questionnaires and interviews about the cancer psychology service
• Ensure quarterly data reports for Macmillan and their evaluation partners are sent in a timely and secure manner following the processes in the data sharing agreement
• Support the Cancer Psychology Service to ensure patients are informed about the evaluation
• Support the Cancer Psychology Service to create streamlined and patient friendly administrative processes
• Support the Cancer Psychology Service with ad hoc requests when capacity allows, for example helping with training event arrangements.

- Experience of the operations of Clinical Psychology services in medical settings
- Experience of organising meetings and taking minutes/notes
- Experience of working under pressure and to tight deadlines

- Experience of working within an NHS setting
- Experience of implementing new systems and processes
Communication & relationship skills
Essential criteria
- Able to build effective working relationships with colleagues across an organisation, and with external collaborators
- Able to summarise and communicate requests and complex information to clinicians, data analysts and external partners
- Able to liaise with patients of the cancer psychology service and cancer health professionals in the Trust around administrative requests and evaluation data gathering
- Able to respond sensitively and compassionately when communicating with patients

- Able to draft short reports and summaries, tailored to different audiences

- Able to identify potential problems in project implementation and suggest solutions
- Able to apply agreed protocols for collecting and managing data to specific situations, particularly with regard to data integrity and security

- Able to undertake data cleaning to correct data errors
Planning and organisation skills

- Able to plan and monitor data gathering
- Able to compile large datasets from multiple data sources, including coordinating the contributions of the members of the cancer psychology team
- Able to create high quality and efficient administrative processes
- Able to store data accurately, and organise data files in a clear way
Applicant requirements
