An experienced Clinical Psychologist with an interest in clinical health psychology and the impact of growing up and living with haemophilia or other inherited or acquired bleeding disorders. You may have experience of working with physical health problems with either children/families or adults, or experience of working in child and adolescent or adult mental health services with a keen interest and desire to apply that knowledge to work in an acute trust

The main duties of the role will involve working closely with the haemophilia team to offer psychological care to those with haemophilia or other inherited or acquired bleeding disorders.
You will work with children, young people and adults, providing consultation to staff, working directly with patients and families, and by attending haemophilia clinics. You will be instrumental in developing the psychology service within the speciality, as the service has not had any recent dedicated clinical psychology support.
You will be part of a welcoming and growing Clinical Psychology Department which incorporates specialisms in Paediatric Psychology, Adult Medical Psychology and Child and Adult Neuropsychology.

There are opportunities for continued professional development and clinical supervision is well provided for within the team by the Consultant Clinical Psychologist. We regularly have trainees from the DClinPsy courses around the region, so there would be opportunities to supervise trainees. You will also be involved in providing consultation, training and
supervision as required to others within and outside of the multidisciplinary team.
The department has a commitment to clinical research. Strong support is available to participate in research or to develop your clinical research interests. Appropriate clinical supervision will be provided by clinical psychologists working in the adult medical psychology service. Training and Qualifications

- Post-graduate doctoral level (or equivalent) training in clinical psychology as accredited by the BPS.
- HCPC registration as a Practitioner Clinical Psychologist
- Training in 2 or more distinct psychological therapies

- Post-doctoral training in one or more additional specialised areas of psychological practice
- Post-qualification accreditation in particular psychotherapeutic approaches e.g.: cognitive behaviour therapy, ACT, Mindfulness, EMDR, etc.
- Previous training in medical psychology
- Completion of further post qualification specialist relevant training, including training in the supervision of trainee clinical psychologists
Experience

- Experience of working as a qualified clinical
- Experience of specialist psychological assessment and treatment with people with medical and physical health conditions
- Experience of working with a wide range of client groups and presentations
- Experience of exercising clinical responsibility for clients’ psychological care and treatment
- Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team
- Experience of providing supervision and consultation to other clinical staff including psychologists.
- Experience of teaching, training and/or professional and clinical supervision
- Experience of conducting risk assessments.

- Experience of working in acute hospital with patients with medical/chronic health conditions
- Experience of assessing and treating patients with haematological disorders, specifically haemophilia or other inherited/acquired bleeding disorders.
- Experience of developing and implementing group based interventions
- Experience of representing psychology within the context of multi-disciplinary care
- Experience of providing supervision to other clinical staff
- Experience of conducting evaluation projects and clinical research within health settings

- Evidence of continuing professional development as recommended by the BPS.
- Ability to identify, provide and promote appropriate means of support to carers and staff exposed to distressing situations
- Ability to identify, and employ, as appropriate, clinical governance mechanisms for the support and maintenance of clinical practice
- Ability to develop and use complex multi-media materials for presentations in public, professional and academic settings
