We are pleased to advertise our vacancy for a CT Radiographer to cover maternity leave  

This post is suitable for a radiographer who has been qualified for at least 12 months and during this time has gained a broad experience in the field of radiography at a busy teaching hospital. We have 7 CT scanners across 2 sites, the QMC site also incorporates the Treatment Centre. We provide a service for Emergency care, outpatients, inpatients with Major Trauma being positioned at the QMC.

You will be expected to deliver a quality CT service within a fast-paced environment, with a high standard of patient care and positive patient experience. Nottingham University Hospitals Radiology is a 7 day/24 hour service.

We have radiographers undertaking advanced practice in CTC’s and pulmonary nodules, as well as chest reporting we are constantly exploring radiographers working in new ways.  We also have radiographers involved in research.

Working for our organisation

 NUH is one of the biggest and busiest acute Trusts in England.  The radiology department employs approximately 460 members of staff, seeing over 400,000 patients per year.  Our CT Team has 30 Radiographers as well as Imaging Assistants and HCA support.

Queen’s Medical Centre (QMC), City Hospital and Nottingham Treatment Centre offer a wide range of clinical and regional services such as regional neurosciences, Nottingham Children’s Hospital, an Emergency Department (level 1 Trauma centre), cardiac and thoracic surgeries, cancer, renal, urology, and stroke services.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

To undertake imaging procedures within CT.

To maintain a high standard of work and to strive for continual improvements in radiographic standards and patient care within the CT department.

To achieve high quality diagnostic images within the department using the established protocols and procedures.

To participate in the appropriate Band 6 rota system including out of hours shift and on-call duties as required by the CT Modality Manager to cover service commitments.

To assist in the triaging of workflow and patients in the area within which they are working by collaborating with colleagues to maximise departmental efficiency.

To effectively delegate tasks to members of the team to successfully manage the workload of the area within which they are working.

  • Degree/diploma in diagnostic radiography

  • Cannulation trained
