An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Breast Institute for a Clerical Officer/Receptionist. We are seeking enthusiastic and competent individuals to provide Clerical/Receptionist support for the busy breast screening department.
The post will part-time over three days. Duties will be undertaken at the Nottingham Breast Institute and Ropewalk House.
Main duties of the job
The role would require working within a team to complete all daily tasks and general duties including preparing clinics, making and changing appointments, filing and answering the phone.
The position would also involve providing cover for the reception desk both at the Breast Institute and at Ropewalk House.
Good communication skills and the ability to prioritise workloads, in view of changing priorities are essential. Also the need to work under your own initiative is necessary.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The successful candidates needs to be computer literate, experienced in the use of electronic communications and be confident during face to face interactions with patients and visitors. They will be a point of contact for patients at the Breast Institute and Ropewalk House and act as an information resource for staff and visitors. Knowledge of hospital systems i.e. Medway, PAS and DHR is desirable, however training can be provided.

Training and Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Educated to GCSE level in maths and English, Grade C or above
- NVQ2 Business Administration/Reception, or equivalent experience
Experience
Essential criteria
- General office experience, including reception work.
Desirable criteria
- Knowledge of the Breast Screening service
- Experience working within breast screening or a similar department
Communication and relationship
Essential criteria
- Exchanges information with patients and staff for appointments and general queries
Planning and organisation skills
Essential criteria
- Planning and organisation of routine tasks
Physical skills
Essential criteria
- Able to retrieve files from shelving using appropriate equipment
Other requirements specific to the vacancy

- Must be able to travel between City Campus and Ropewalk House
- Flexible with start and finish times when covering reception.
