Job overview

We have a  unique opportunity for a Patient Pathway Co-ordinator to join our passionate, professional and dedicated team.  We are focused on creating a positive journey for patients, providing quality patient care and customer service.

You will be the point of contact for patients accessing elective hospital services throughout their pathway of care, work under the direction of their Operations Assistant/ Speciality Consultant Team and will provide expertise in the proactive management  of the patient pathway from referral to discharge, ensuring the entire pathway is managed smoothly and in a timely manner.

Knowledge Requirements

Essential criteria
  • Computer literate, with experience of using a keyboard with a high level of accuracy.
  • Knowledge of NHS or service provider in general
  • Thorough knowledge of healthcare administrative systems and processes
  • Knowledge of databases, spreadsheets i.e PAS, Excel or similar applications
  • Experience of using a full range of IT/Patient data systems
  • Confidentiality and Data Protection
  • Health and Safety
  • Equality and Diversity
Desirable criteria
  • Sound office clerical background providing knowledge of relevant procedures
  • Experience of using a full range of IT/Patient data systems - As applicable to specialty

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Good general education with GCSE English at grade C or equivalent
  • RSA II or equivalent
Desirable criteria
  • Association of Medical Secretaries, Practice Administrator & Receptionist diploma (AMSPAR)
  • NVQ in Customer Care
  • Institute of Health Records & Information Management Diploma (IHRIM)
  • European Computer Driving License
  • Shorthand speeds of 80wpm
