Registered Nurse

Band 5

Job overview

Kettering General Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is looking for dynamic and inspiring registered nurses who are wanting a new challenge and want to care for our patients in a new and exciting environment.

Kettering General Hospital has acquired a standalone unit that is currently empty.

We are in the process of recruiting into vacancies ready for the new Unit to open to our Kettering Hospital patients.

Spinney Field is a purpose-built stand-alone unit in the Northamptonshire town of Rushden.

This facility has been recently taken over by Kettering General Hospital and will provide care for patients who no longer require their care needs being met in an acute care setting.

This will include patients who are medically optimised but have complex discharge needs and/or patients who can continue their medical care in a ‘home’ like setting.

Whilst this is an offsite location, Spinney fields is a Kettering General Hospital (KGH) service and if successful, you will be employed on KGH terms and conditions and will be an employee of KGH.

The successful applicant will work at Spinney fields but may be required to work at the main site at KGH on occasion or if the service provision changes.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will work at Spinney fields but may be required to work at the main site at KGH on occasion or if the serviced provision changes.

The post holder will participate in the delivery of high standards of care to patients and families taking responsibility for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care for our patients. They will work with the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure that our patients that transfer from the main hospital site receive on going care that is of excellent quality, that is safe and that onward discharge plans are adhered to.

They will participate in the management of the Unit when required, ensuring smooth and efficient running in the absence of the Ward Manager or Senior Staff Nurse.

This role would suit registered nurses who may have acute experience, community, or residential/ nursing home experience who is looking for career development and a new challenge.

If you would like to know more please contact our Spinney field senior team.
