Job overview

Bank (Temp Staff) Trust Grade SHOs are required to provide patient care within the Trust. 

This post is predominantly for shifts in A&E. The Speciality Doctors, together with the SHOs and Trust Grade (SHO) doctors are responsible for  the initial assessment, management and treatment of all patients presenting to the Accident and Emergency department. The Trust Grade doctor will be required to assist in the day to day running of the department as  directed by the Clinical Director.

Main duties of the job

Kettering General Hospital are inviting applications for Temporary Trust Grade SHO to join our staff bank. The hours will be as and when shifts come on up and you will need to be flexible. 

Kettering General Hospital NHS Trust is an Acute District Hospital and we employ over 3,100 staff, we serve a population of around 360,000 across North Northants, South Leicestershire and into Rutland.

Our hospital services include:

24/7 Cardiac Centre offering hear-related treatments close to home.

A Treatment Centre offering day and short stay surgery.

A Maternity wing including neonatal intensive care unit.

A Specialist Skin Care Centre.

Excellent diagnostic facilities (CT/MRI Scanners)

A Cancer Care Wing and a Bowel cancer screening centre

A brand new Intensive Care Unit, Cardiac Ward, Children and Adolescent Outpatients and ward.

  • MB BS/MB ChB
  • Full registration with GMC
  • Are other specific attainments required - License to practice
Desirable criteria
  • MRCEM PART 1

Previous Experience

Essential criteria
  • Completion of FY1 and FY2 training (or equivalent)
Desirable criteria
  • NHS Experience in Emergency Department

Skills and Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • KNOWLEDGE OF AUDIT/EVIDENCE BASED MEDICINE
