Locum Consultant in Urology

We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated Locum Consultant in Urology, based at York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

The job role involves supporting a well established and collaborative department, focused on excellent, person-centered care. The post-holder will be involved in diagnostic and core urological activity. The department has a keen interest in developing further complimentary sub-specialist areas and the job role would enjoy support in training and development. 

The Trust provides acute hospital services for approximately 800,000 people living in and around York, North Yorkshire, North East Yorkshire and Ryedale – an area covering 3,400 square miles. We manage ten hospital sites, 1,127 beds (including day cases) and have a workforce of over 8,000 staff working across our hospitals and in the community. Our main sites are in York and Scarborough.

Base hospital: York

Within the Trust we are part of Surgery Care Group, which includes most surgical specialties. We have a Clinical Director responsible for the all General Surgery, Urology, Vascular and Breast services across the Trust. We also have a Lead Clinician for Urology

Essential criteria
  • Registerable medical qualification and FRCS or equivalent
Desirable criteria
  • Full Registration with GMC and completed subspecialty training programme in Urology a with CCT (on the Specialist Register)

  • Full Registration with GMC and within 6 months of completion of specialist training or equivalent experience.
