Are you looking for a post based within our York Teaching Hospital Facilities Management Team?

Then we may have the role for you!

York Teaching Hospital Facilities Management (YTHFM) are looking for an approachable and flexible Facilities Operative to join our team in Scarborough.  Experience is not necessary as full training will be given, but a willingness to learn and develop your skills is essential.

The working pattern for this role is via a rolling rota that covers the hours that the department is operational - 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. 

Overtime/additional hours may also be available at times, for those who wish to do this.

Duties include:

  • Linen Room - distributing and assisting with deliveries of linen
  • Portering - helping with patient flow and movement of equipment around the hospital
  • Domestic Duties - cleaning wards/departments and serving tea/coffee/food to patients
  • Environment - removing and segregating waste
  • Catering – working in the kitchen alongside the Catering team

  • Enhanced Pay for unsocial hours worked – unsocial hours are any hours worked on weekends or between the hours of 8pm and 6am.  At Band 2, the enhancements are: all time on Saturday (midnight to midnight) and any week day after 8 pm and before 6 am – time plus 41% (£16.14per hour) or all time on Sundays and Public Holidays (midnight to midnight) – time plus 83% (£20.95 per hour).
