We are seeking a Ventilation AP to join the Estates team as a Mechanical Services Supervisor (Specialist Supervisor) role which will act as the AP for Scarborough and Bridlington's Ventilation systems.

Main duties of the job

To assist Facilities Management in providing a dedicated service and be responsible for the practical implementation and operation of YTHFM’s safety policies and procedures relating to the engineering aspects of medical gas systems and processes. Acting as the first point of contact for any issues and providing all other departments with the technical assistance they require. 

To ensure all functional testing of critical systems is carried out to ensure compliance with HTM-02 and the Trust's water safety plan.  To carry out detailed analysis of all test reports, performed by either in house staff or external contractors, and to ensure any remedial actions are completed. To consult with external organisations and YTHFM’s appointed Authorising Engineer to resolve complex faults and ensure all future installations meet relevant standards.

The post holder will be qualified to act as the Appointed Person for medical gas across the complete range of estates services and as such will accept on behalf of YTHFM each piece of new/refurbished plant or equipment into service. The post holder will help develop YTHFM and Trust Policies within Mechanical Services. The post holder will act as a YTHFM expert and liaise/negotiate with external bodies on new projects.

Person specification

Education, Qualifications and Training

Essential criteria
  • Degree level qualification or equivalent level of experience
  • Additional professional development and suitable site knowledge to be formally appointed as an AP (Authorised Person) / RP (Responsible Person) by the Trusts AE (Authorising Engineer) in one or more of the following – depending on specific role specialist requirement - Ventilation AP
  • Current Driving Licence. The current driving license should not amass 12 points within any 3- year period. For new drivers they should not amass 6 points within the first 2 years of passing their test. Driving category for a Car is B.

Experience & Knowledge Required

  • The post holder will have completed further development (normally 2 post years initial apprenticeship training)
