Harrogate Integrated Facilities are inviting applications to fill a Team Leader post in our reputable Sterile Services Department.

We have an opportunity to recruit a Skilled and highly motivated individual to our well established technical team of around 40 staff. You will be committed to teamwork and delivering a first class customer service.

The department specialises in processing surgical instruments and flexible endoscopes through the decontamination lifecycle, ready for patient use. It has a throughput of approximately 180,000 surgical instruments and 1500 flexible endoscopes each month.

Team Leaders need to demonstrate a quality focus and vigilance supporting the contents of all quality procedures and the quality manual at all times.

To work within the Sterile Services team, supervising the reprocessing of medical devices for clinical use, in accordance with the Medical Device Directive 93/42 EEC ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 13485:2003 and work within the requirements of the internal quality management systems and the current issue of the departmental work instructions.

The hours of duty will be as contracted and as specified by the departments off duty utilising the Health-Roster database. The aforementioned technician will be required to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays as dictated to by the department’s off-duty.

Harrogate Integrated Facilities (HIF) was formed in 2018 and is a wholly owned subsidiary of Harrogate and District Foundation NHS Trust. We supply a wide range of services to the hospitals and community sites, including; cleaning, catering, portering, hotel services, estates maintenance, sterile services, equipment library, security, car parking, general office, energy, waste and environmental impact reduction.

One of our 400 + dedicated HIF colleagues, is often the first person a patient or visitor meets when they come to Harrogate District Hospital and can make a really positive difference to them. Our work is also vital to ensure that our colleagues in the medical teams have the facilities and equipment they need to provide excellent care.

  • qualification in Healthcare scientist apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 In Health – Decontamination
  • Competent in all areas of the sterile services department
  • Working with quality systems/record keeping
  • Knowledge of working within ISO standards
  • Able to work weekends, evenings and bank holidays when required
